Our Story

Woman-owned and operated since 1977 - Noron Precision Machining has built 45+ years of trust through excellence, relationships, and an unwavering commitment to quality.

Built on Quality & Trust

Noron Precision Machining was established in 1977 near San Jose, California - at the heart of what would become Silicon Valley. For nearly five decades, Noron has grown alongside the technology, aerospace, medical, and defense industries that define the region, becoming a trusted precision machining partner to engineers and manufacturers across the country.

As a Woman Owned Small Business, Noron has always operated on a simple, powerful principle: "Noron Precision Machining is dedicated to absolute best customer service, providing quality on time parts with a sense of warmth, friendliness, individual pride and company spirit."

That spirit isn't just a motto - it's the foundation of relationships that have lasted 30 years and more. "We have long standing, 30-plus year relationships with several of our customers," says Debbie Hanks, President and CEO. "We insist on 100 percent on-time delivery, superior quality, and excellent communications. We partner up with our customers and have an obligation to satisfy their demands and grow with them."

Serving Silicon Valley Since 1977

From the beginning, Noron's customer base has reflected the diversity and innovation of Silicon Valley: medical device manufacturers, aerospace and defense primes, biotech instrument companies, telecommunications firms, computer peripheral makers, and optical system developers. Many of these relationships predate the internet - engineers who first worked with Noron in the 1980s and 1990s still call today.

One longtime customer put it plainly: "If all his parts were with Noron, his life would be so much easier." That customer's confidence earned Noron two consecutive bi-yearly "Supplier of the Year" awards for 100% on-time delivery and quality.

Staying Ahead: 5-Axis Machining & Robotics

Noron has never stood still. As customer designs became more complex, Noron invested in the technology to meet them. "Engineers are leaning toward 5-axis design," Debbie notes. "Running those parts on a 5-axis is the only way to go - we are able to mill multiple sides, preventing human error." Today, Noron operates multiple Haas 5-axis machining centers alongside its fleet of CNC mills, lathes, and mill-turn machines.

Most recently, Noron has added Trinity robotic automation cells to its shop floor - integrating automated part loading and unloading with its CNC machining centers to increase throughput, reduce cycle times, and maintain the consistent quality customers expect. Featured in CNC West magazine alongside Trinity Automation, Noron's robotics journey reflects the same forward-thinking approach that has defined the company for nearly half a century.

COVID-19: Essential Manufacturing

When the COVID-19 pandemic shut down much of the economy in 2020, Noron Precision Machining was designated an Essential Business. The team continued working, manufacturing components for COVID testing equipment at a time when those components were urgently needed. It was a moment that crystallized Noron's role not just as a supplier, but as a critical part of the supply chains that keep society running.

ISO 9001:2015 Certification - May 2021

Noron had considered ISO 9001 certification for years. Tier 1 aerospace, medical, and defense customers had grandfathered Noron in, but the team knew formal certification would open new doors - and bring internal operational benefits too. In October 2020, Noron engaged BMSC consulting (Bretta Kelly and Debbie Hart) and completed the journey in just six months.

On May 9, 2021, Noron Precision Machining, Inc. was officially certified to ISO 9001:2015 by Kalos Certifications LLC, accredited under the ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB). The quality system was written to be compliant with both ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100D.

"It will make many of our customers happy," Debbie said at certification. "And a somewhat surprising benefit is that it is helping us to streamline operations within our company."

"Continuing my personal commitment along with our Noron Team, to provide you with excellent service and the superior quality your company deserves." - Debbie Hanks, President & CEO
